Client Project 1

Raised Access Floor Replacement Integrated into a Full M&E Data Center Refresh (3,000 SF, <2 Weeks, Zero Outages)

For Client 1, the customer was executing a complete mechanical and electrical (M&E) refresh in their data center and made the strategic decision to include a raised access floor (RAF) replacement as part of the overall modernization effort. Since the refresh was designed to support operations for years to come, upgrading the floor at the same time was a logical—and cost-effective—interface that reduced future risk and avoided duplicating disruption later.

The Project Environment

  • Approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of raised access flooring
  • Roughly 200 pieces of live equipment supported throughout the work
  • Strict operational requirement: no outages and no interruption to normal operations
  • Aggressive schedule: completed in under two weeks

The Approach: Planning, Sequencing, and Coordination

Success depended on disciplined pre-planning and tight coordination across multiple stakeholders:

  • Detailed phasing and sequencing to maintain continuous uptime
  • Coordinated logistics aligned with the broader mechanical and electrical refresh schedule
  • Controlled work zones and roll paths to support safe movement, access, and stability around live systems
  • Clear communication and alignment across leadership and on-site teams to keep execution predictable

Result: New Raised Floor, Zero Downtime

In less than two weeks, the customer had a fully replaced raised access floor system with no outages, supporting both the immediate refresh goals and long-term facility reliability.
